Yellowstone National Park is booming with wildlife. From bears to bison, this national park truly has it all. Oftentimes, tourists get themselves into trouble by wandering too close to local wildlife. The number of bison goring stories I have written is truly astonishing. However, this story is even more terrifying, for it was not a bison that this tourist got too close to. Instead, this Yellowstone hiker wandered too close to a wolf pack. Additionally, the entire chilling encounter was captured on video.

The level of people's foolishness never ceases to amaze me. I get it, wildlife is incredible. I am sure that the wovles are an astonishing sight up close, just as I am sure seeing a great white shark up close would be epic - but I am not approaching one in the wild. The sane person enjoys the view from afar, or better yet, on their TV screen, watching the Discovery Channel.
However, this man believed he was above nature and approached the wild animals with no hesitation. The video shows the Yellowstone hiker boldly approaching the wolf pack. I am not quite sure what he was expecting, but what he got was the same boldness from the wolves. Almost immediately upon arriving near the pack, the wolves began to race towards him.
Bystanders filmed the entire interaction. "This could end very badly for that guy?" one of them commented behind the scenes.
Terrifying Footage Captures The Absolute Audacity Of Yellowstone Tourist
Rather than having common sense and being nervous about the encounter, the Yellowstone hiker opted to wander even closer to the wolf pack. He began yelling at them, presumably to scare them off. This caused the wolves to retreat slightly, but they were still very curious about the hiker encroaching on their territory.
Eventually, the hiker realizes that approaching a wolf pack in Yellowstone may not have been the best idea. He then slowly backs away. When one of the wolves begins to come after him once more, he opts to spray bear spray near the creature. This deterred the predators long enough for him to retreat slowly. Although the man was fortunate to have escaped unscathed, the internet was not happy for him.
Instead, many people shared their desire for the Yellowstone hiker to learn a lesson from approaching the wolf pack. Below are some comments that were left under the video.
"woulda been so cool if they ate him ???."
"Team wolf button >>>."
"I hate ppl like this. Why can't you simply respect their space?"
