I don't know about you, but I assume that most people who see a shark up close would run in the opposite direction. Granted, if you come across one in the water, there isn't much you can do. However, if you are taking a casual stroll along the beach and stumble across one, you can choose not to get close to it. While many people would opt for that safe choice, one brave woman made the decision to save a beached shark rather than run from it.
Brave Woman Decides To Save A Beached Shark

Colleen Dunn was enjoying a nice stroll on the beach in Oregon with her pups when she noticed something. That something happened to be a small beached shark that was struggling on the shore. At first, she assumed it was a baby great white shark. Later, she discovered it was a salmon shark. Most people, thinking they saw a great white, would choose not to engage. After all, even a baby shark could cause some severe damage.
However, Colleen Dunn decided she had to assist this struggling animal. She watched as the poor shark was thrashing around in the low tide, struggling to breathe. She called her husband for guidance on the situation, but the NY Post revealed that he didn't answer, so she decided to act on her own. Although she made the brave decision to save the beached shark, she did so with fear.
When speaking to the outlet, Dunn expressed that she was scared. "I was essentially nervous about touching it at all," Dunn stated. "I have three kids, so I didn't wanna put myself in a dangerous position." Therefore, she was very careful as she reached the animal and grabbed it by its tail. Then, she dragged the shark into deeper water. Once in the deeper water, the shark was able to successfully get water into its gills, and it swam off freely. It's a thank you to the brave woman who was not taking a chunk out of her.
It is nice to see that there are really wildlife warriors out there who help animals in need - no matter how scary they might be.
