A California woman is accusing an Amazon delivery driver of stealing her cat. Now, she's pleading with the driver to return the feline. She says the driver stole the animal while dropping off packages at her house.
Taking to Facebook, Diane Huff-Medina pleaded with people to help her. She claims, "An Amazon delivery person took our cat... after he dropped off a package on Thursday evening. We just want her back home safely." The California woman shared a video of the Amazon Flex driver. It showed a driver dropping off packages at her home.
The video then shows the driver picking up the cat by its neck and carrying it to his car. Huff-Medina hasn't seen her cat, named Piper, since. The California woman says that Piper was microchipped but didn't have a collar at the time. In the video, she says that the cat is distressed. She questions why the Amazon driver took her.
Amazon Driver Accused Of Stealing Cat
"...She's meowing at first, like normal. Then it sounds a little more distressed," she told CBS News. "Then he just kinda more aggressively grabs her and carries her off like a raccoon or something. ... It didn't look like he was trying to save her, I don't think."
"It's a helpless feeling because we watched her get taken, so I don't know where she is or if she's okay," she also said.
Following the incident, Huff-Medina filed a police report on December 15. She also tried to contact Amazon, but the company hasn't been able to get in contact with the driver. The company launched an investigation into the incident. She told KTLA, "They know who the driver is, but they haven't been in contact with him."
