Woman Found Dead a Month After Jumping Out of a Moving Car

Sad news in the case of a woman who has been missing after jumping out of a moving car. Search and rescue recently found her deceased a month later.

The New York woman disappeared last Month on foot. The Suffolk County Police Department said they found a body belonging to 32-year-old Brittany Kritis-Garip. Fernando Garip, her husband, said she jumped out of a moving vehicle. She then threw her phone into a bush before running away.

"We've been combing wooded areas, rural areas, suburban areas, everything," Garip said at the time. "We're going to be at this until she's home. I don't care what we have to do, what needs to be done."

Exactly what happened on that fateful day is unknown. But the woman disappeared shortly after jumping from the car. Despite searches, her family was unable to locate her alive.

Woman Dead After Jumping from Car

Niko Kritis-Garip, Brittany's brother, confirmed that his sister had passed away. Taking to social media, he shared a tribute to her, calling her a light in their lives.

"With heavy hearts, we share that Brittany has been found and has passed," he wrote. "We take comfort in knowing that God has called her into His care, and that she is now at peace."

"Brittany was, and will always be, a light in the lives of everyone she met. Her warmth, kindness, and spirit left a lasting mark on so many people. That light does not disappear—it lives on in all of us who knew and loved her," he continued.

"We are deeply grateful for the overwhelming support throughout this search. From prayers and messages to the countless people who gave their time, energy, and resources to help bring Brittany home—thank you," Nike added. "The visibility, care, and compassion shown by this community meant more than we can fully express."
