If you have never heard of SantaCon2025, you are not alone. Until this year, I had never heard of it either. However, it is one of New York's most popular bar crawls. The NY Post shares some of the details surrounding the relatively secretive event. It is expected to hit NYC on December 13, aka tomorrow, folks! The event is set to run from 10 a.m. through 8 p.m., which is a lot of time to drink if you ask me.

Additionally, the outlet shares that this event expects all attendees to dress to impress, and no, I don't mean suits. Instead, you should dress as old Saint Nick himself, or some other Christmas character ready to spread holiday cheer. Also, organizers of the event shared that SantaCon2025 is a "charitable, non-political, nonsensical Santa Claus convention that happens once a year to spread absurdist joy." Basically, no bad vibes allowed.

The NY Post shared that in the past, "SantaCon has partnered with the CityParks Foundation, The Children's Heart Foundation, City Harvest, The Ali Forney Center, The Secret Sandy Claus Project, Neighbors Together, Dance Parade New York, and Materials for the Arts." So you are drinking for a good cause!

Best Ways To Enjoy, Or Avoid, This Year's Festivities

SantaCon2025 is a bit of a secretive event. The starting point of the festivities is kept secret until the day of the event. However, the NY Post shared that the meeting location is "generally somewhere between Broadway and West 39th Street." Afterward, the New York bar crawl follows a route of participating bars and venues.

The path is also revealed in real time, adding a layer of mystery and excitement to the event. If you want to stay up to date so you know where to go to enjoy, or which streets to avoid, be sure to download and use their app "Hello Santa NYC." If you plan on joining the festivities, be sure to bring cash and come in costume. Additionally, all participants in the event are forbidden from "fighting, littering, urinating in the streets, climbing on cars, and consuming too much booze."

If this all seems like too much, download the app so you know which streets to avoid. Or spread holiday cheer by ordering DoorDash and snuggling up in your apartment with some Hallmark Christmas movies. Either way, you will be prepared with all you need to know about SantaCon2025.
