Country singer is suffering another devastating personal loss just a month after announcing the deaths of her two miniature horses. Country singer Miranda Lambert confirmed the death of her beloved chihuahua.
She's had the dog for 15 years.
Taking to Instagram, she revealed that her dog, Cher, has passed away. In the post, she reflected on better times such as when she took Cher to the 2010 Academy of Country Music Awards (ACM).
"Our sweet bear Cher crossed over the rainbow bridge yesterday," Lambert wrote. "Cher gave us 15 years of love and all the chihuahua attitude and energy she had to give. And if you have ever had a chi chi you know what I mean."
The country singer is mourning the loss.
Country Singer Says Goodbye
She wrote, "And if you have ever had a chi chi you know what I mean. I adopted her from a shelter when she was 10 weeks old in 2010. I put her in my overalls pocket at the shelter and that was it! Her first big trip was to the ACM awards in Las Vegas."
The country singer also wrote, "She was on every tour I have done since. Thank you to her sweet soul for all the road miles she traveled. "
Cher had been there for a good portion of her life, including when she found the love of her life.
She said, "I was a rescue dog mom of 9 when I met @brendanjmcloughlin 7 years ago, and now we are down to one. ( last slide of Bellamy and Cher ). We sure are ready for a break from the heartbreak y'all, but they are worth every tear we have cried. Animals bring so much joy but I sure do wish dog years didn't go by so fast. Rescue's forever."
The passing comes just a month after the deaths of her minature horses, Sugar Pie and Adrianna.
"The best part about being an animal mom is the joy. The worst part is when the time comes to say goodbye," said Lambert, adding, "Godspeed little bitty's. I know you are both in greener pastures as I type this. I'll see y'all again one day. Big love ?????."
