Florida Meteorologist Has Emotional Reaction To Hurricane Melissa Live On The Air

A Florida meteorologist had quite the startled reaction to the power of Hurricane Melissa while live on the air. The hurricane has been historic thanks to its fearsome strength. It's already torn through Jamaica and is currently striking Cuba.

John Morales, a meteorologist with NBC affiliate WTVJ, was appropriately freaked out. In a clip shared on TikTok, the meteorologist said what everyone was thinking when he learned the latest barometric pressure of Melissa.

His fellow meteorologist, Adam Berg, told Morales about the power of the hurricane.

"180 [mph] now," Berg said.

"Okay, 180, and what's the pressure?" Morales said.

Berg responded, "Pressure is now down to 896 [mb]."

At least 7 people have died in the Caribbean so far from the storm. The National Hurricane Center issued an advisory on Tuesday in regards to the hurricane, urging people to take cover.

"THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND LIFE-THREATENING SITUATION! TAKE COVER NOW!" the agency warned. "Failure to adequately shelter may result in serious injury, and loss of life."

It's a late-stage hurricane but nonetheless quite serious.
