Flyer Is Judged For Making Their Own Espresso 35,000 Feet In The Air

The majority of people in the world adore coffee. Not only do they adore it, but most people need it to function. This is particularly true on long or exhausting days, such as travel days. However, I have read - and written - several articles on why you should avoid that airplane coffee. So what are you supposed to do when you need that caffeine hit 35,000 feet up in the air? Well, you could be like this flyer who was judged for making their very own espresso while flying in the air.

After learning about the horrors behind airplane coffee, I don't think I would be brave enough to order one on a flight again. Not only did flight attendants admit that the water tanks are rarely ever cleaned, but when they shared how the coffee pot itself is cleaned, I actually gagged. Nevertheless, one flyer could not make it through his flight without a good old cup of Joe. Rather than order one at the airport and bring it onboard, this alleged barista opted to make his own espresso.

Then, he shared a TikTok video of him making his own espresso while he was 35,000 feet in the air. The video has gained almost 2 million views and proved that people are doing all sorts of things while on planes now. The video started off with the man, Ozan Cetinkaya, removing a vacuum-sealed bag of espresso beans. Not only did he have the beans, but he also had a handheld grinder. This was clearly not this man's first time making his own espresso on the go.

Afterwards, he took out a fancy Bluetooth-connected device. He placed the ground coffee in there, and I am assuming somehow it has hot water or makes the water hot. After all, a professional like this would never drink a cold espresso. His fancy coffee device is even connected to his phone. Finally, he pours the beautifully crafted espresso into his cup. It is steaming and ready to be enjoyed. While I think it is a bit extra, I admire his dedication to his coffee and found the whole thing to be sort of impressive.

The Internet Was Not Impressed

As is usually the case, the internet was not impressed. Instead, several people had a lot of negative things to say about the man making his own espresso at 35,000 feet in the air. Here were some of the comments left underneath the video.

  • "Being insufferable at 35,000 feet."
  • "If I smell freshly brewed espresso on my flight and I don't get any, I will crash out."
  • "I don't like you."
  • "Why do some people make hot bean water their entire personality?
