A 55-year-old hunter is very fortunate to be alive. He survived for 20 days in the California wilderness, somehow miraculously being found alive. For the past three weeks, search and rescue teams have looked for Ron Dailey in the Sierra National Forest.
They finally found him on November 1. The hunter has been missing since October 13. He never returned home. Speaking with ABC 7., Dailey explained that he took a wrong turn and got lost.
Then his truck broke down.
Fortunately, he had enough food for two weeks. The hunter used his car for shelter. But after running out of food, he faced a choice. He told himself, "Now this is it, Ron, two days of hunting - you either try to walk out or you're gonna sit here and die."
Trying to go down the trail, he fell several times and lost his phone. In total, he was out there for 20 days before a group of hikers found him. By that point, he was in pretty bad shape.
Hunter Found Alive
"I can't hardly walk anymore, Lord, you gotta help me Father God," Dailey told ABC 7. "I raised my head up, there was a car with headlights on and I go, 'Oh God, thank you Lord.'"
"Thank you everyone that prayed for our family and for Ron. I do believe in miracles, and this is one," she said, according to ABC News.
She also later wrote on social media thanking everyone.
"I want to thank everyone for all the support and love that we received while we patiently waited for Ron. God has answered the prayers of so many of us ??. He is going to be shocked when I show him all of the people who searched for him," she wrote.
"To the men who went down that road and found him, I am eternally grateful for you; I cannot wait to meet you," she also continued. "There are so many Family members, friends and people we do not even know that were looking and we are so thankful to all of you! God still does miracles, and we have just been shown one ??."
