Mini Goldendoodle Saves His Family From New York House Fire, Called A Hero

A mini goldendoodle is being praised for saving his family from a house fire in New York City. It's proof that heroes come in all shapes and sizes. This very good boy is deserving of all the treats and a good head scratch or two.

Meet Chase. Chase is a 12-pound miniature goldendoodle. According to WABC7, the dog saved his family from a house fire in Long Beach, New York. The incident happened on November 9. At the time, the entire family was asleep. But not to worry, because the goldendoodle was keeping watch over all of them.

After the fire started, Chase started barking relentlessly until his owners eventually woke up. The barks saved their lives.

"The residents were woken by the dog barking, and then looked out and saw the fire," Rick DiGiacomo of the Long Beach Fire Department told the outlet.

Goldendoodle Rescues Family

Everyone managed to make it out of the burning building without any injuries. The goldendoodle managed to save the day thanks to its barking. However, fire officials noted that things got dicey for one member of the family. That family member in question ended up climbing onto the roof in order to escape the fire. Still, they lived and that's what mattered.
Fire crews from multiple fire departments such as the City of Long Beach New York Fire Department, and the Lawrence-Cedarhurst Fire Department came to put out the fire. It took them almost an hour to get the fire under control. Sadly, the blaze appears to have damaged several floors of the house.

At this time, the cause of the fire is unknown.

"The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Nassau County Fire Marshal's Office, the Nassau County Police Arson Bomb Squad (@nassaucountypd), and the Long Beach Police Department," the agency added.
