As if buying a home wasn't stressful enough. A young couple was thrilled to be the new homeowners of a 132-year-old house. However, it seems that this home offered more than just old bones. In addition, this old house came with some surprising secrets.
New Homeowners Discover Their Old Home Has Some Secrets

Courtney and Matt were just excited to be new homeowners. However, they soon discovered that their beautiful old home was harboring many secrets. They received a letter that was addressed to the purchaser of the home. In that letter, the writer identified themselves as "the last surviving member of the Madison family." Additionally, the letter detailed that the Madison family once owned the home the millennial couple was now residing in.
Furthermore, the author of the letter grew up there. The couple shared some of the details of this letter on their TikTok. While they left out the details surrounding the family's background, they did share some of the contents as well as some of their old home's secrets.
According to the letter, this old house had three secret rooms within it. Those rooms included a hidden liquor cabinet behind the fireplace, a secret spot across from the bathroom, and a hidden room beneath their sunroom. The couple seemed to be in good spirits about the whole ordeal and shared their haunted scavenger hunt with their TikTok followers. They are much braver than I, I think, after discovering that letter and the old home secrets, I would have sold the home. Alas, some people are interested in these sorts of things. Courtney and Matt did not seem to be bothered by it, as they continued to share videos of themselves renovating the spaces.
People Love Haunted Things
Although I will never understand it, some people really do enjoy haunted things. In fact, some people seek them out. While I can't guarantee you will buy an old home that has secrets, if you are someone who loves thrills and chills, there are some places you can visit. Some of the most popular places in the United States are haunted hotels. For example, the hotel that inspired the movie and the book The Shining is well known for its paranormal haunts. Also, there is a hotel in Arkansas that used to be an experimental hotel. Or you could always wait for Halloween and try out a good old-fashioned haunted house. For me, anything paranormal or spooky is a hard pass, but you could be like Courtney and Matt and smile in the face of spooky secrets.
