Restaurant Has Savage Response To Negative Comment

In this digital era, everything is now plastered online for the world to see — the good, the bad, and the ugly. Online reviews can now significantly impact a business's reputation. This is particularly true for restaurants. As someone who is an avid reviewer, trust me when I tell you that people take them into account. However, one restaurant wasn't going to let the negativity get them down. Instead, this restaurant had a savage response to a negative comment about their cuisine.

After finishing a meal at a restaurant, one customer was not feeling satisfied. Rather than keeping their grumblings to themselves, this Negative Nancy decided to share their grievances with the world. Therefore, they hopped on the internet and left a review. A screenshot of the review and the hilarious response was shared on Reddit. The customer wrote the following about their meal:

"I ate here for the first time tonight. The brisket was probably the best I've ever had but I found an entire LEAF in my baked beans. I cannot make this up."

If that review seems bizarre, it is because it is. Who complements the food, saying it is "the best I've ever had," but then still finds something negative to say. Also, what in the world is this leaf that the customer complained about? I seriously doubt there was some fall foliage in this person's dish. As it turns out, there was a very simple answer.

Restaurant Has Savage Response To Negative Comment

Rather than ignore the comment, as many establishments do, this restaurant decided to take matters into its own hands. They went online, and the restaurant left an absolutely savage response to the negative comment. They started their response by saying the following.

" So, we're glad you enjoyed the brisket. I'm guessing you've never seen bay leaves in your food before? If you see them in the future you can rest assured that that is a sign that someone spent time and effort making your food from scratch."

That right there would have been enough for me. It was funny, informative, and addressed the concern at hand. There were no random leaves in the dish, just a bay leaf for enhanced flavor. However, the establishment decided to take it one step further. Therefore, they added the following to their comment.

"We pride ourselves on making everything fresh in house, no cans ever. So you will find unique spice blends and herbs being used in our food. That includes bay leaves. Again I'm glad you enjoyed the brisket and I'm sorry the leaf surprised you."

The Internet Reacts

People absolutely loved this restaurant's savage response. They thought that it was funny, informative, and professional. The establishment did a great job addressing the issue while remaining civilized and promoting themselves all at once. Here are some of the comments under the Reddit post.

"Well, that's one way to turn a bad review into an advertisement for your business."

"This is how all good business owners respond to negative reviews."

"I'm sure it would surprise some people to find a leaf in their food if they've never seen a whole bay leaf before. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't at least ask what it is before you leave a bad review."
