A teenage girl is lucky to be alive after a bike ride turned into a fight for survival. She was riding her bike when a rattlesnake bit her.
The teen fell off her bike on March 2o and landed near a rattlesnake. The serpent promptly bit her, causing an emergency rescue. According to local CW affiliate KTLA, the incident happened near the Wendy Drive trailhead in Thousand Oaks. Fortunately, they managed to rescue the girl and get her to the hospital for treatment.
"They were able to make access to the patient by hiking in, assess the patient and help rescue and extricate that patient back to a safe area where we had the ambulance standing by," Ventura County Fire spokesperson Andrew Dowd told KTLA.
Rattlesnake Bite After Falling Off Bike
"We are not doctors. We are not lawyers. We are a family that handed our son over to people we trusted and never got him back," organizer James Hernandez wrote on a GoFundMe. "We have questions that deserve answers, and getting those answers requires a legal fight that costs more than any normal family can afford," James continued. "We are raising these funds to pursue the truth about what happened to Julian and to stand up for him."
"That is triggering their body and they want to warm," Mission Viejo Animal Services Manager Kyle Werner told KCAL-TV.
