Two brawling mule deer bucks took their fight from the streets into someone's home in Denver. The animals crashed through a window into a basement exercise room at the house.
The incident happened in the neighborhood of Roxborough Park. A homeowner heard a loud crash and went downstairs to find two bucks brawling it out. They immediately called Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) agents for help. Agents arrived on the scene and quickly tranquilized both of the bucks before they could cause more damage.
Fortunately, both animals suffered only minor injuries despite crashing through a window. Firefighters assisted agents in moving the animals outside and releasing them. This is not even the first time something like this has happened in Colorado. Speaking with Cowboy State Daily, West Metro spokeswoman Ronda Scholting opened up about bucks coming into residential areas.
Bucks Crash Through Window
"It's a subdivision with a wildland-urban interface," she said. "We haven't pulled a deer out of somebody's basement before, as far as I know."
Meanwhile, wildlife biologist Franz Camenzind told the outlet that he's not surprised something like that happened. Rutting bucks are fighting it out with everything they've got. They want to mate after all.
